Today I saw my pain reflected in someone elses eyes.
This someone's name is Caleb and he is pining after a girl that doesn't deserve him.
He is hurting.
And others are telling him to cowboy up, to get over her. That there are other fish in the sea.
But Caleb only wants Emily.
And Emily doesn't want Caleb.
Although, Emily does want Caleb to want her, and makes sure she's on his mind, even though she see's that being on his mind is killing him.
It's killing me to watch Emily on his mind, because I can see that Caleb, is me, and I am hurting just as he is hurting.
Which brings me to a thought.
Why do we have to move on?
Why is that the universal proclamation for those with a broken heart?
When we are young we are taught to believe in fairytales.
The kind that bring us to that elusive idea of love portrayed in the stories of Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc etc.
The kind that creates too many expectations in a world unfit to fulfill them.
But we are not.
In the real world we are taught that there are no fairytales.
We are told that love does not last.
We are told it will not happen for us the way we want it to, so we spend sleepless nights trying to figure out how it will work, tossing and turning with questions of what we should do to escape this loveless world of opinionated ideas and prove them wrong.
It is proven to us time and time again that if we find love, it will be hard, at times bitter and at only rare intervals; sweet.
We are shown through the relationships and marriages of others that love is painful, that it will take everything from us and give nothing in return and in the end, it will fail. Which in our world today is almost something to celebrate.
We are products of the shadows that haunt us and the outcome of a world of let downs.
So I question... Why cant I be left to believe in something wonderful?
Why must we relinquish the fairy-tails were given as children?
Why can't we look for a love worth holding onto? A love worth loving.
Is it such a bad thing to think that the world was not meant to break us, that love is not meant to end in shattered, unrepairable pieces, and that someone, somewhere really does have all the love to give and a heart big enough to receive our own?
I say; stop telling those hurting to Let go and move on.
Let them love. For that is all they are guilty of.
Let them cry, because the pain is real. But it is built from something that was beautiful.
To feel is nothing to be ashamed of; whether the feeling is tantalizing or tragic.
Love is magic intermingled with wings of desire, weaving through star lit skies and breathless sunsets.
It is a catastrophic epidemic where our heart gets the chance to grow at it's full capacity and show us what it's made of.
We all have the capacity to love another in the biggest way.
We have the will within us to love one and share with them in making love a winning dream.
We are a people in a world focused on love.
We seek for love, we hide from love, we build love, work for love, we live and die for love, we kill for love.. we breath for love.
If love is the heart of the world, than allow the heart to love.
If you lose something... you search for it until it is found.. right?
Than why, when love is lost, do we force ourselves to leave it lost and start our search in replacing it?
There is no shame in holding on to someone you gave the most beautiful part of yourself to... your heart.
There is also no shame in searching for a way in finding that love again.
Fairy tales are not made up of improbable means. But rather the makings of what we lost and what should be found again.
With that said;
Dive with passion.
Live ignited.
Stay unbound.
And Love.
Just Love.
It truly is, ok.

"Life is hard and love can hurt, but I was never one to do things the easy way. So let fate throw all odds. Let love try and wound! I will stand ready with a smile and say 'is that all you got?'"
And so it is. We will love. You just clarified the reasons why it is fair to do so. Well done, sister.
your a beautiful soul.
